GlobeKonect Marketing & Distribution is a multi diversified company that deals in the marketing and global distribution of various consumer products for different manufacturers and companies throughout the world. We are in search of a reliable and experienced logistics and distribution manager to join our project team in Lagos, Nigeria.

 

   Job Description

As Logistics and Distribution Manager, you major responsibility will be to ensure that the supply chain is efficient and effective throughout the establishment. To safely organise, store and promptly distribute goods to ensure customer satisfaction will be parts of your job. You will manage the stock control, warehouse and means of transportation.

 

   Duties and Responsibilities

* Plan and manage staff trainings and projects.

* Plan vehicle routes and work on new supply strategies.

* Perform regular inventory checks and maintain stock levels.

* Moving more products and securing new clients each month.

* Schedule workshops with new staff and sales representatives.

* Assisting with the planning of product launches and brand events.

* Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.

* Source stock and negotiate the best deals with suppliers and vendors.

* Following up with potential clients and offering top-notch customer service.

* Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle.

* Arranging meetings with suppliers and developing more effective marketing strategies.

* Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.

* Use ERP and other IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs.

* Oversee the loading and unloading of products and goods, and ensure safe transportation.

* Conduct research on market trends and attending product launches and networking events.

* Conduct stock inspections in a timely manner and reporting any issues to the relevant parties.

* Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.

 

   Minimum Job Requirements

* BSc in Marketing, Business, Information systems, Computer, Logistics, Distribution or Transport.

* At least 2 years of work experience as logistic and distribution manager other other jobs related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.

 

   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

* Strong multitasking and analytical abilities.

* Excellent negotiation and networking skills.

* Commercial awareness and numeracy skills.

* Ability to communicate fluently in English language.

* Good knowledge of ERP, MS Excel and Microsoft office

* An eye for detail and the ability to identify inferior products.

* Good time management and the ability to collaborate with others.

* Some degree of IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data.

* Skill in organising resources, establishing priorities, and working efficiently.

* Excellent record-keeping skills and a positive attitude to continued learning.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people.
